We are dedicated to creating vibrant outdoor areas through exceptional teamwork, innovation, and efficient service delivery.We are seeking a motivated Team Leader Turf Maintenance to lead our turf maintenance crew in delivering excellent park and open space management outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, supervise, and mentor a team of turf maintenance staff, ensuring high-quality outcomes and team performance.Deliver scheduled turf mowing and maintenance works across parks and open spaces in line with the maintenance specifications.Plan, allocate, and monitor work programs to meet required targets and service levels.Operate, maintain, and conduct running repairs on turf maintenance vehicles, plant, and equipment.Monitor safety and ensure compliance with OH&S policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.Coordinate resources and implement improved team efficiencies to achieve continuous improvement.Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and members of the public to deliver excellent service.Provide accurate reporting on team activities, budget performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).Key Selection CriteriaCertificate IV in a turf management-related field or significant experience in turf and open space maintenance.Experience in operating and maintaining light mechanical plant and turf maintenance equipment.Manual handling skills and relevant certificates (e.g., Chemical Users, Traffic Management, Chainsaw Operations).Strong leadership and team management abilities to lead a small crew effectively.Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with team members, stakeholders, and the public.High level reliability and accountability.Why Join Us?Lead a dedicated team making a real impact in the community's parks and open spaces.Enjoy job security, growth opportunities, and professional development.Work in a supportive, collaborative, and safety-focused environment.Contribute to creating vibrant, green spaces for everyone to enjoy.Why Wellington?Here at Wellington Shire Council, we have a strong commitment to create a workplace culture that is collaborative, provides work-life flexibility, and encourages opportunities for growth and development.
