Transport Service is a Group within Department of Transport & Planning, and is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and accessible transport infrastructure and services to all Victorians.
Regional Transport is a Division in Transport Services Group, and is responisble for provideing better transport experience connecting regional communities, businesses and visitors.
Places of work - Benalla and/or Bendigo (Flexibility may be available) The Senior Transport Planner will coordinate some key activities of the Department's Regional Transport Strategy team in shaping the future Regional transport system to deliver a prosperous, connected and liveable Victoria. The role will consist of proactively partnering across the transport portfolio and with other government departments and agencies, Regional Partnerships and local government stakeholders to advance integrated land use and transport planning outcomes in Regional Victoria. This role will ensure the transport system delivers on the intention of the Transport Integration Act. Particularly ensuring users are at the centre of multimodal transport planning and that this planning is done in an integrated place-based manner across all modes.
Role Specific Requirements The role necessitates a valid driver's licence and a shift work is required which could involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
Position Accountabilities The role requires to coordinate with various stakeholders including industries, government agencies, and local communities to ensure effective transport planning and management, while leading the development of strategic narratives and priorities for regional transport planning. Additionally, oversee the coordination and delivery of regional transport projects, events, and programs, and integrate transport considerations into land use and economic development activities, including liaising with Aboriginal communities to improve economic and social outcomes.
