The Zinfra Projects and Infrastructure business is the trusted partner to deliver construction projects in Transmission Lines, Substations (Green and Brown field), Renewable energy storage, and Green Gas infrastructure.
About the role: We are looking to engage a new Senior Transmission Lines Engineer to report to and work directly with our Principal Transmission Lines Engineer. This newly created role will be responsible for supporting the establishment, development, and delivery of profitable projects, producing accurate and timely design solution tender deliverables, value engineering, constructability review, risk identification & management, and project delivery support.
The highly visible role is required to develop and maintain a close relationship with key internal and external stakeholders including operations personnel, key clients, design consultants, and contractors.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Identifying and developing project design solutions including required outputs across multiple bids and projects as per contractual requirements.Managing works in accordance with agreed deadlines.Providing engineering support to Design Managers delivering design deliverables.Delivering high-quality design services and meeting changing business conditions.Identifying required design services to ensure design deliverables are on time and to quality through program management and stakeholder engagement.Providing optimum design solutions for projects to satisfy internal and external client requirements while achieving budget and program expectations.Supporting strong ownership of personal performance and commitment and pride in work.Supporting a culture aligning with the company values.Supporting and communicating organizational objectives.Supporting the management of design consultants and ensuring compliance and delivery of engineering design/outputs for projects.Providing support to the Principal Transmission Lines Engineer to deliver a program of transmission lines design and engineering works.Undertaking occasional site visits providing engineering and design support during tender development and for ongoing projects.Developing tender design solutions at short notice for tender requests, ensuring tender designs have sufficient detail for estimators, constructors, suppliers, and subcontractors to understand the scope and properly estimate the work.Reviewing developed design deliverables, including studies, reports, calculations, drawings, specifications, quantity take-offs, etc., in accordance with head contract, client specifications, pertinent codes, standards, and legislative requirements.Undertaking value engineering and driving engineering innovation.Compiling and/or procuring costs/estimates and risk assessments in D&C/EPC bids for detailed design, specialist consultant services, and specialist procurement items.Providing innovative engineering solutions to improve Zinfra's ability to win work and ensure the achievement of revenue targets.Fostering and evaluating new engineering developments, technologies, systems, and products to improve Zinfra's design management capabilities and offerings.Supporting skills development and training of junior, graduate, and project engineers.Having previous design management experience is highly regarded, but not necessary.About you: To be selected for interview, your resume will need to highlight tertiary qualifications in a relevant subject and demonstrated experience in design and possibly design management for energy networks.
