The Senior Trainer Officer, Intelligence will provide significant assistance to the Manager, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations Training in the review and design of contemporary intelligence training and development programs, to meet the needs of QCS, Custodial and Community Corrections operations.
ResponsibilitiesIdentify the competency needs of QCS Intelligence staff intelligence users using appropriate training needs analysis methodsConduct skill audits to confirm training meets QCS and individual needs of staffPrepare for and deliver training, ensuring where relevant to nationally accredited training, Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards are met, and resources and any specific needs are organised prior to delivering sessionsReview training and assessment procedures, and report findings to appropriate personnel for system modification purposesDevelop a training calendar for all Intelligence development training considering other Custodial and Community Corrections trainings, and communicate program availability to relevant participantsIdentify and consult with internal stakeholders and external training providers to ensure Intelligence staff are provided with contemporary role specific training and developmentProvide input to the QCS Academy management team through the Manager, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations Training in relation to development of training for Intelligence staffUse information collated through an effective training evaluation process to contribute to the continuous improvement of the Intelligence training curriculum and contentCoordinate and conduct assessment validations on an annual basis in accordance with RTO standardsEvaluate training through self-assessment, participant feedback and supervisor commentsEnsure sufficient evidence is gathered to determine competencyRecord assessment results accurately in accordance with specified record keeping requirementsProvide recognition of current competencies and recognition of prior learning opportunities to staffValidate all new training and assessment tools in accordance with RTO procedures and QCS policies and procedures.Essential RequirementsExperience in and an understanding of the contemporary intelligence operations within a criminal justice environmentExperience in the design, delivery, implementation, and review of vocational educational training programsSkilled in written and oral communicationConfident facilitator with demonstrated capability to successfully engage a diverse audience of adult learners to help cement knowledge transfer and application.The ability to work effectively in a cross functional teamAnalytical, problem solving and conflict resolution skillsThe ability to build and sustain relationships and manage ongoing working relationships with a range of stakeholders.Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions, and Other RequirementsPossession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40116) or equivalent qualification is highly desirable. Candidates not possessing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be required to achieve that qualification within 12 months.Applicants are required to acquire the Diploma of Correctional Administration (Intelligence). This is required in order for the role to deliver and assess the Diploma qualification as part of their duties.Relevant tertiary qualifications would be highly desirable.Travel may be a requirement for this position.This position may be required to work at different sites.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
