Our work encompasses every part of our State, from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community.The OpportunityThe Regulation Directorate sits within the Transport Policy and Regulation Division and is responsible for driving the Government's regulation and policy initiatives and ensuring appropriate compliance, behaviour and safe access across our transport networks.
The Senior Training Officer leads a small team and is responsible for:Researching, developing, implementing, and maintaining training and assessment material for the Division.Developing training plans aligned to career development, regulated industries and technical competencies.Demonstrating strong leadership, engagement and communication skills.Collaborate effectively with internal and relevant external stakeholders.It is essential for the Senior Training Officer to liaise across jurisdictions and with training bodies to develop and ensure alignment of training materials and programs to national standards.About YouWe are looking for a proactive and experienced professional to join our team.In this role, you will:Work independently to initiate, plan, and execute impactful programs.Provide clear, concise written and verbal communication to stakeholders at all levels.Lead change initiatives and manage risk across assigned functions.Coordinate complex solutions and take ownership of key responsibilities.Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) to identify skill gaps.Design and develop nationally recognised training courses and competency-based resources.Deliver customer-focused, strategically aligned services.Collaborate with stakeholders to navigate and resolve sensitive, complex issues.Qualifications/ExperienceFor success in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and experience:Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher is essential.Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or Diploma of Training Design and Development or equivalent is desirable.An appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or relevant experience in the design, development and implementation of accredited or workplace training programs.Experience in a regulated or compliance environment within an RTO or training-related role.Experience in or understanding of training development and demonstrated experience in the ability to rapidly acquire skills in different fields.Experience working with national training frameworks.Proven ability to manage and deliver complex and critical outcomes to the required standards and timelines.Proven ability to design and develop training material that meets industry needs.Special ConditionsPrior to employment with the Department, the successful candidate will be required to provide:A National Police Check (NPC) which is required to be renewed every three years.A Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (WWCC) which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.A current C class driver's licence is required.Application InstructionsApplications can be submitted online by clicking the 'Apply' button.Applicants are required to submit a curriculum vitae and a cover letter of no more than two pages addressing the selection criteria in the role statement.Our CommitmentThe Department for Infrastructure and Transport is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture across the department, planning for and promoting diversity and culturally safe workplace.
