Senior Town Planner, Transport and Main Roads Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Buderim QLD • Permanent full-time positions in a great location • Flexible working conditions and ongoing opportunities for training and career development • Be involved in one of TMR's largest transport infrastructure programs Key responsibilities Undertake statutory land-use and transport planning tasks for development assessment and compliance.
Provide high-level strategic and regional planning advice in relation to the assessment of development impacts on the transport network in accordance with the Development Assessment Rules and other statutory processes including major land use planning activities.
Provide high-level advice on the Economic Development Act 2012, Planning Act 2016, the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 and other statutory instruments applicable to the department in respect to land use and regional planning matters.
Review proposed legislation, planning concepts, planning schemes and other statutory and regional plans and documents and provide advice on the implications of such initiatives on existing and future transport networks.
Develop and maintain appropriate and effective liaison and communication with internal staff, state and local government agencies, the community and other stakeholders.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
Possession of tertiary qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised tertiary institution which is acceptable for full membership with the Planning Institute of Australia.
