The Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club was founded in 1884 and is one of Australia's pre-eminent sporting and social clubs. Located in the Melbourne suburb of Toorak, the Club has 4,600 members and a full-time staff of 50 people with a further 50 also employed on a casual basis.A Club steeped in the history of Australian tennis, Royal South Yarra Lawn Tennis Club boasts a range of world-class facilities, available to its Members and their guests.It provides extensive facilities for competitive and social tennis (26 tennis courts) and squash, fitness classes, croquet, a gymnasium, 25 metre swimming pool and billiards room. One of the key objectives of the Towards 2020 Strategic Plan was a focus on the continued sophistication and elevation of our culture as a true Member-centred organisation where continued development of our services and facilities was at the heart of this four-year journey as a world-class private club.We are seeking a full-time senior tennis coach to provide high-level coaching to Members of the Club.Role purpose and dutiesReporting to The Director of Tennis, you will primarily:Work with the Club's junior and hotshots players and be expected to deliver exceptional on-court coaching services.Develop coaching programs and drills to enhance players' skills, technique, and game strategy.Provide feedback to players and parents on player development.Engage with Members, including participating with Members and watching and analysing juniors.Promote coaching and other training services at the Club.Coach high-performance athletes.To assume full responsibility, in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer, for the delivery of the Club's tennis and tennis coaching programs. It is envisaged that a minimum of 80% of the role will be on-court coaching, but this will likely vary at different times of the year and with consideration of the objectives of the person in the role.Qualifications, experience and attributesQualifications in tennis, sport, fitness and coaching or experience in lieu.Substantial experience playing and coaching tennis.Experience coaching padel and/or pickleball is advantageous.Strong communication and motivational abilities.Summary of role requirements:Flexible hours available2-3 years of relevant work experience required for this roleWorking rights required for this roleExpected salary: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
