Join us and be at the forefront of powering change.The team/department:We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Telecommunications Engineer within Western Power's Telecommunications Design team located at Western Power Head Office, Perth, on a permanent full-time basis.What you will be doing:As Senior Telecommunications Engineer you will be accountable for developing and applying your specialist design capabilities to deliver competitive concept and detailed designs, design contract management and consulting services associated with Western Power's operational telecommunications systems. These accountabilities include:Producing concept and detailed operational telecommunications designs of high complexity in support of the development of Western Power's Transmission and Distribution networks, coordinating with other specialist internal Western Power design teamsPrepare detailed engineering specifications, analyse tenders, manage external design contracts and initiate purchasing of equipmentProvide telecommunications engineering consultancy advice to internal stakeholders and external customers to assist them in options analysis, risk analysis, scope definition and project implementationPrepare telecommunications design scopes and manage the design contract process to successfully deliver outsourced concept and detailed designs produced by external design service providers operating from Western Power's professional engineering services panelContribute to the assessment and integration of new technologies applicable to operational telecommunications systems;Apply Safety in Design principles in the preparation of all concept and detailed design activitiesProvide technical leadership and coaching to colleagues working in graduate and experienced design rolesDeliver services to commercially competitive standards for technical excellence, safety, environmental quality, cost and customer satisfactionWhat you will get from the role:Western Power isn't just a workplace; it's a community where innovation thrives, safety is paramount, and support is always at hand.
