We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineer to lead a team in the design and support of the construction of grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver affordable energy as we are powering towards 50% renewable energy by 2030.

Focusing on complex Renewable Energy and BESS projects , the Senior Telecommunications Engineer will provide direct supervision and lead, coach and mentor a team of telecommunication professionals in the delivery of design solutions.
Your day to day will be providing professional and technical engineering advice, recommendations and guidance in the planning, design, and implementation/modification of operational telecommunications systems.
Most importantly, you will champion Energy Queensland Limited's values as you support your team and its stakeholders in the delivery of its goals.
The remuneration for your new role is from $164,752 plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $186,170 plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight. Why choose to work for us?: Important to your success in the role is your:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering. Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) . Experience in the provision of professional engineering advice and direction for design and support of Telecommunications systems in the electricity network, power stations, and customer connections. Knowledge of the associated protection fundamentals, SCADA, power station, substation, and civil/structural requirements. Background in fixed network design. Familiar with optical fibre and microwave networks for both TDM (PDH/SDH – Nokia PDH in particular) and IP/MPLS. Experience with cellular technologies, preferably GE Orbit, Cybertec, and Satellite (Sabre Ranger) variants. Experience in the use of AutoCAD, SAP, Vault Document Management and Pathloss Radio Path Profiling software. Proven ability in leading, coaching and mentoring a team of diverse professionals. Complex problem-solving skills, making effective decisions throughout project lifecycles in the application of sound judgement, and presenting findings/recommendations in technical reports or presentations.
