APA is looking for a Senior Technical Officer - Mechanical to join their Maintenance team on a full-time permanent basis.
APA owns and operates the Natural Gas pipeline that has delivered reliable supply of energy to the NT Communities since the 1980's and we are looking for a mechanically minded individual to join the team in Katherine.
Our Mechanical Technicians are responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, reliability, and improvement of high-pressure pipelines to meet customer requirements.
All our NT Team are residential employees, drive company issued vehicles, and have a great work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities Prepare, co-ordinate, and implement plans for the installation or modification of equipment to enhance operational effectiveness and meet customer requirements.
Analyse and interpret data to maintain equipment integrity and optimize operational performance.
Source and procure new equipment, install, commission, and test new equipment, and monitor operation and rectify faults if required.
Undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities on pipeline systems, Meter Pressure Reduction and Compressor Stations, and associated equipment.
Undertake extensive site overhauls on meter and compressor station mechanical equipment, identifying and analysing abnormal operating conditions and complex fault finding of equipment problems.
Participate in major mechanical plant modifications, including assisting in the identification of component reliability, procurement, and maintenance scheduling.
Your background Mechanical trade or equivalent work experience in a relevant industry.
Knowledge of pipeline systems, Meter Pressure Reduction and Compressor Stations, and associated equipment.
Experience in operation and maintenance within a heavy industrial environment.
Current manual driver's licence.
Demonstrated knowledge of HSE principles and commitment to safety.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills - able to work in a team.
Adaptability to changing priorities to maintain operations.
Able to work autonomously and in remote locations.
Able to work on call and attend to overtime as required.
