About the Company We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated Technical Accounting Staff Members to join an innovative and high performing team for our Federal Government client.
In this role, you will work closely with senior leaders to support a variety of key projects related to public sector accounting standards and climate-related disclosures.

About the Role Your core responsibilities will include: Assisting with technical drafting to support the development of Service Performance Reporting principles and requirements, as well as climate-related disclosures for the Australian public sector.
Identifying necessary adaptations for the application of international standards, such as the IPSASB Exposure Draft and AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures, within the Australian context.
Analysing stakeholder feedback and drafting staff papers to inform members on potential modifications to existing standards like AASB 1059 and AASB 18.
Supporting outreach and engagement activities with key stakeholders, including documenting results to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Contributing to benchmarking exercises and preparing educational materials to enhance understanding of financial reporting standards.
About You The ideal candidate will have: Is manager level or equivalent with demonstrated relevant experience in the not-for-profit or Government sector Extensive knowledge of the Australian NFP sector, including a thorough understanding of: Australian Accounting Standards as they are applied by NFP entities A subject matter expert at explaining differences between IPSASB pronouncements and IFRS Accounting Standards.
A subject matter expert at applying the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) in the public sector.
A subject matter expert at applying AASB 1059.
A subject matter expert at preparing or auditing financial statements, budget papers, outcomes reporting and financial information prepared under the Uniform Presentation Framework at the whole-of-government level.
A subject matter expert at preparing or auditing financial statements of a range of NFP entities in the private and public sectors.
A subject matter expert at preparing or auditing financial statements prepared in accordance with AASB 1056 Superannuation Entities.
A subject matter expert at preparing or auditing financial statements prepared under AASB 1049.
The Benefits Day Rate: $800-$1200 per hour + Super Temporary Contracts: Enjoy the flexibility of short-term engagements (contracts up to 12 months) The role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects that influence financial reporting standards in the public sector.
