The Opportunity
**1-Year Fixed Term Contract**
Reporting to the General Manager -Tax, you will have a strong attention to detail and enjoy building and sustaining relationships with internal teams. You will delivera full range of tax services in compliance with laws and
regulations within defined time frames. Your experience with understanding and resolving complex tax technical issues will be an asset to us and your ability to work autonomously will provide you with role flexibility.

Assist with the preparation and lodgement of income tax returns and indirect tax compliance deliverables. Assist with the preparation and review of the periodic tax and tax effect accounting calculations Provide technical and advisory support on a broad range of direct and indirect tax matters Provide accurate and timely tax advice to the business on various issues including key business initiatives and, as and when required, liaise with external advisors Liaise with the ATO and SRO's to resolve any routine queries or issues arising in relation to tax compliance obligations and escalate matters to the General Manager Tax where appropriate Support tax governance and risk management framework and reporting obligations Ensure the business operations have adequate knowledge of all tax matters including, but not limited to, providing training, advice, knowledge sharing and assisting with business process improvement. What you'll bring
Relevant degree qualification and membership of a professional institute e.g. CA or CPA, Tax Institute Masters Degree in Tax (desirable) Extensive practical corporate taxation compliance, tax effect accounting and tax technology experience Broad knowledge of Australian corporate income tax law and GST law and Australian accounting standards The ability to persuade and influence others in relation to a specific agenda while at the same time building lasting relationships and networks Relevant higher degree (desirable) Who we are As a leader in retirement living, with 30 years' experience, Aveo provides the stability and confidence to try new things and keep innovating.
