About the role: Reporting to our Tax Manager, our Senior Tax Advisor will play a key part of our tax team ensuring that Ventia meets all its Taxation obligations on time and within the context of our tax risk and governance frameworks.
With a focus on GST and FBT across the group, you will support our wider finance function and business in relation to all taxation matters across our diverse ASX listed organisation.

What you'll be doing: Responsibility for all tax compliance obligations for both Australia and New Zealand with a focus on GST, FBT, withholding tax and fuel tax credits.Responsibility for the accurate and timely preparation of the Group's Joint Venture income tax returns.Preparation of workpapers, position papers and file notes to support positions adopted.Assist our Tax Manager with statutory tax reporting, budgeting, forecasting, half year and year end audit and updates and implementation of changes to Ventia's Tax Corporate Governance frameworks.Perform reconciliations of tax accounts and conduct reviews of business system processes to ATO best practice to foster continuous improvement.Provide proactive and practical advice to stakeholders across the business.Keep up to date with legislative tax changes and possible impacts to our business.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on all tax matters and queries as well as performing ad-hoc projects and general administration.About you: Bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting.
Preferably having completed or nearing completion of the CA or CTA.Demonstrated experience working on GST and FBT tax matters for large organisations.
Exposure to Big 4 would be an advantage but not essential.A high degree of curiosity and an ability to challenge the status quo.Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Suite, OneSource CCH Tax Integrator, ITX Edge or similar.Well-developed communication, attention to detail and analytical skills and the ability to partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.About Ventia: Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
