KBR's growing Aerospace Team is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Systems Safety Engineer to assist our Canberra-based client.
The Opportunity: The Systems Safety Engineer will provide support associated with the System Safety Program and the efficient identification and management of Safety Case issues.
Responsibilities: Provide assistance in shaping the System Safety Program for the projects within the business area.Provide specialist System Safety guidance to address System Safety issues.Conduct and participate in System Safety discussions, working groups, and ad-hoc meetings as they are scheduled.Provide support to review/approval of artefacts developed by other staff within scope and level of Engineering Authority assigned by the COA.Provide support to the development of relevant Engineering Tech Work Instructions to ensure compliance with CASG policy/guidance while capturing lessons learnt and best practices.Provide Engineering input to the development of the SPO's Strategies and Plans, including policy and procedures.Provide reports and other artefacts relating to:System Safety ProgramMinutes of working groupSystem Safety recommendationsCertification PlansAs the ideal candidate you will bring: Essential: Demonstrated previous experience inDefence Aviation Safety Authority (DASA), Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR), European Defence Agency requirements or European Aviation Safety Agency regulation set; andAviation System Safety ManagementMinimum NV1 Australian Government security clearanceWill require immediate access to ITAR informationDesirable: Knowledge of Defence Writing standardsKnowledge of internal Defence processesAbility to work autonomously, multi-task, and demonstrate an ability to meet demanding milestones (Highly desirable)All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) Defence Security Clearance.
