In this role, you'll: As part of the Major Works Operational Technology team, you will provide technical management, subject-matter expertise, and serve as the Design Authority for Sydney Trains' operational telecommunications systems.
You will also lead systems engineering and technical integration efforts for high-complexity projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting functional analyses of telecommunications systems, leading design activities for Sydney Trains' operational technology, and managing change management processes.
You will play a key part in ensuring effective communication between critical components that support Sydney Trains' operational telecommunications systems.
This is a fixed term opportunity up to 30/06/2025. Your extensive experience in the design and implementation of telecommunications systems—including 48v DC Systems, Earthing, HVAC, Comms Room, Optical Fibre and Copper Cable Networks—along with practical knowledge of systems engineering methodologies across all development stages, will enable you to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across Sydney Trains and the broader Transport business.
You will have a strong understanding of the GIS system.
You will also be tertiary qualified in Electrical/Telecommunications engineering and qualify for graduate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
