Role Overview As a Senior Linux Systems Engineer/Administrator you will play a key role in enhancing system performance, security, and automation, ensuring that our infrastructure meets the demands of a high paced business environment.
This position requires deep technical expertise and leadership capabilities with a focus on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.
Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Design & Management : Lead the architecture, deployment, and management of Linux-based systems across both on-premise data centers and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Ensure seamless integration with other IT systems to support business continuity and operational efficiency.
Performance Optimization : Continuously monitor system performance, proactively identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning measures to ensure high availability and minimal downtime in our mission-critical environments.
Automation & Efficiency : Design and implement automation strategies using Bash, Python, or other scripting languages to streamline routine tasks, reduce manual intervention, and improve operational efficiency across the infrastructure.
Patch Management & Security : Lead patch management processes, ensuring timely updates to critical systems.
Implement proactive security measures to mitigate risks and safeguard against external threats, maintaining compliance with industry best practices.
Cloud & On-Premise Infrastructure Enhancement : Own the lifecycle management of both cloud-based and on-premises Linux systems, recommending improvements and scaling solutions to match the company's rapid growth and evolving technical needs.
Disaster Recovery & Backup Solutions : Design and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity and data integrity, minimizing risk during system failures or unforeseen events.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work closely with engineering, network, and security teams to implement infrastructure solutions that align with company goals.
Provide expert-level support for complex issues, facilitating timely resolution.
Mentoring & Leadership : Provide 3rd-level escalation support and mentor junior administrators, helping to develop the team's technical capabilities.
Lead by example, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
IDR/XDR Platform Integration : Ensure Linux systems are integrated with advanced Incident Detection and Response (IDR) or Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms to enhance threat detection, monitoring, and incident response.
Qualifications Experience : 5+ years in Linux systems administration with a strong background in managing large-scale, high-availability environments.
Technical Skills : Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS, or equivalent).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Scripting & Automation : Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, Perl, or similar languages.
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform is highly desirable.
Security Expertise : Solid understanding of security best practices, including system hardening, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
Problem-Solving : Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
Backup & Recovery : Experience designing and implementing enterprise-level backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Certifications : Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or similar) are a plus.
