For more than 140 years, TAFE Queensland has delivered practical and industry-relevant training to provide students with the skills and experience they need to build lifelong careers.As the Senior Systems Developer, you will:Lead assigned development, documentation, implementation and maintenance activities for student systems and applications supported by the Team.Provide high level technical expertise, advice and guidance to staff and business units in regards to student systems.Provide technical support, configuration and technical development enhancements for a range of student systems, applications & interfaces.This position reports to the Lead Developer, Student Systems Support.This is a Permanent, Full-Time opportunity.The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt, however can be negotiated to work at another TAFE Queensland campus.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake system design, development and configuration utilising a range of technologies for student systems, applications and associated platforms.Implement and extend the student systems & applications, advising on best practices to ensure system and application features are fully utilised.Design, develop and deliver Change Requests that are to be provisioned via approval and/or automation workflows.Provide consultancy service and assistance to business units in the provision of ICT systems support and the resolution of technical issues.Provide technical advice and guidance on software development and maintenance best practice.Provide support in monitoring and reporting of student systems performance, usage and system availability.Work with business units to establish, update and document technical requirements and perform system design when required.Prepare documentation, support procedures, manuals, designs and status reports where required.Ensure appropriate development standards and quality assurance requirements are followed.Contribute to productivity improvements within the organisation through effective application of ICT solutions.Apply innovative techniques to the use of leading-edge technology towards system and application development and support.Contribute to a culture focused on strong client support.Organise individual workloads to ensure quality, responsive and appropriate client service is delivered.How you will be assessedThe ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:Demonstrated experience in managing ICT projects or key tasks related to this area of expertise.Effective leadership skills and the ability to guide, support and delegate within a team environment.A high level of written and oral communication skills including the ability to consult and negotiate.Demonstrated ability to promote a strong ICT team culture that values contributions of all team members.How to applyIf you're interested in this role, click the 'Apply' button to submit your application via the TAFE Queensland Recruitment Portal.
