About the Division An exciting opportunity exists within School Digital Services Branch, School Application Services in the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD).
IMTD provides innovative and integrated ICT Systems and information management services and support.
About the Role The purpose of this role is to perform business and systems (technical) analysis and testing of the Department's critical School Administration system including CASES21 Admin & Finance, eCASES, Student Insight Digital Enrolment, Student Insight Digital 6 to 7 Placement, Student Insight LOOKOUT, Student Insight School Entrant Health Questionnaire, Edupay, and other important and complex business applications projects across the Division, and to contribute to business analysis and quality assurance activities for the School Systems Unit.
The Senior Systems Analyst will:
Have a good understanding of integrated IT systems within the Schools Systems environment to undertake effective testing, business systems analysis and design including high-level modelling, process flow modelling, process re-engineering and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.Analyse and communicate stakeholder needs by translating business requirements into software requirements whilst documenting and evaluating required data and information.Develop and maintain knowledge of client business processes and make an active contribution to the improvement of these processes through inputs into the development, modification and maintenance of systems.Analyse technical processes to identify opportunities for improvement and design, develop and implement new and enhanced processes whilst supporting project management for business process changes.Perform software quality assurance and testing activities to ensure delivery of quality systems to clients.Contribute to business requirements analysis and preparation.Conduct data analysis to drive decision-making activities.Exhibit effective stakeholder engagement skills and experience.Attributes We are looking for a Senior Systems Analyst with:
Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills and the proven use of initiative in solving problems, including knowledge and experience in defining, implementing and enhancing business processes.Ability to analyse issues from different perspectives and draw sound inferences from information available.Ability to communicate orally in a manner which is clear, fluent and holds the audience's attention.Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to liaise with a diverse range of internal and external personnel and stakeholders and proven ability to plan and organise work and produce high-quality results.A tertiary qualification or an industry accreditation in a related field and experience within a government environment would be advantageous.Desirable Qualifications and Experience Essential: Minimum 3 years Business and Technical Analysis or related experience delivering analysis artefacts on high complexity ICT projects.Essential: Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and reporting tools such as Power BI.Essential: Experience with Salesforce and Amazon Web Services.Essential: Experience and understanding of database systems and data management processes.Essential: Accreditation with Working with Children in Children's services.Desirable: Qualification in Business and Technical Analysis such as CBAP or similar.Desirable: Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment.Desirable: Strong working and practical knowledge of Student Information Systems (SIS) or similar.Further Information For more details regarding this position please see attached position description for the capabilities to address in application.
