Primary objective: The Senior Systems Analyst is a member of and leads a specialised team responsible for reviewing and analysing services, processes, and technology to deliver high-quality technical solutions, as well as providing expert advice and operational support to ensure critical business systems operate smoothly.
Key duties and responsibilities: Provide high-quality technical advice, expertise, and support in relation to critical agency applications and business systems.
Lead the assessment, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and implementation of solutions to problems and requests for change.
Determine and document business requirements and processes by working with key stakeholders to deliver improvements in information systems.
Plan and drive scoping, requirement definitions and prioritisation activities for large initiatives.
Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices.
Participate in after-hours and on-call rosters as required, ensuring high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria: Essential: Demonstrated experience in managing, configuring, and supporting critical systems in a complex integrated environment.
Demonstrated experience in planning, analysing, designing, and executing complex initiatives to time, cost, and quality targets.
Demonstrated experience supervising individuals and working collaboratively with team members.
Demonstrated experience in incident, problem, change, test, and release management processes.
Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining high-quality technical and business documentation.
Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values.
Ability and willingness to participate in a rotational roster for after-hours/on-call application support.
Desirable: Relevant Tertiary, Project Management, IT and ITIL qualifications or certifications.
Relevant knowledge and experience in health, child protection, youth justice, or housing services.
Competency at the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) level 5.
