Reporting to the Solutions Capability Team Leader, the Senior Systems Administrator is the senior technical authority within the Solutions Capability Team. In this role you will be providing technical expertise and guidance in system administration for the effective delivery and management of CASA's strategic objectives. You will work autonomously and in collaboration with others across the wider Information Technology Branch to deliver the system administration functions of CASA systems, providing support to internal and external clients.The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the following:Delivering and assisting with the delivery of the Section's work program, contributing to strategic and operational priorities for ICT within CASA.Assisting with the coordination of projects undertaken within the Solutions Capability Team, and provide technical leadership to Solutions Capability staff undertaking project delivery work.Providing technical expertise, administration, and support of system solutions for the effective delivery and management of nominated CASA's IT systems.The provision of technical services; particularly in Windows Server, Windows Server fundamentals (AD, DNS, DFS, Group Policy etc), and the administration of Microsoft Azure environments.Assisting with the identification and resolution of production problems including vendor liaisonProviding professional advice, support, assistance and feedback with regards to technical issues, and services to ensure the alignment with best practice and the strategic intent of CASA.Assisting with the development, documentation and improvement of ICT procedures and practices.Collaborating, participating in and contributing to the planning, development and delivery of team plans to support the Team/Branch and broader CASA goals and objectives.Supporting the implementation of change and promoting continuous improvement activities within the team/Branch and across the organisation as appropriate.Modelling and promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA's Values and Behaviours.Provide technical mentoring to junior staff within the team, and other resolver groups as required (Desktop, Service Desk etc.).Participating in a team 24x7 on-call roster to provide infrastructure support out of hours (approximately 1 week in 8).Our ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:Strong demonstrated technical expertise in Microsoft Azure environments is ESSENTIAL.Demonstrated experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or similar role.Demonstrated technical expertise in of Windows 10, Windows Server, and Windows Server fundamentals (AD, DNS, DFS, Group Policy etc).Demonstrated ability to manage and enhance the operational efficiency of the ICT environment.Demonstrated ability to communicate with influence (both verbally and in writing) with the capacity to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical people.Demonstrated flexibility and the capacity to exercise judgement, intelligence, discretion and independence for performing their CASA work responsibilities.Demonstrated ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships with identified internal and external stakeholders, which are built on credibility and trust.Relevant experience, tertiary or formal qualifications would be highly regarded.Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.)Promotion of workplace safety, equity and diversity, and act in accordance with the CASA Values and Behaviours.The following ideal candidate requirements are desirable:Experience with SQLExperience with Office 365 & ExchangeExperience with Backups using Veeam & Azure BackupExperience with application packaging, SOE development, patching and deployments using SCCM and IntuneExperience with LinuxAffirmative MeasuresThis vacancy is being advertised concurrently under a general and an affirmative measure recruitment process.Affirmative measures is only available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait people or people living with a disability, evidence will be requested if your application progresses under an affirmative measures process.The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) was established on 6 July 1995 as an independent statutory authority. The Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 and the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations 1998, made under authority of the Civil Aviation Act, provide for general regulatory controls for the safety of air navigation. The Civil Aviation Act and CAR 1988 empower CASA to issue Civil Aviation Orders on detailed matters of regulation.
