About the NSW Crime Commission:
The NSW Crime Commission is established to investigate and disrupt organised crime and other serious criminal activity and to pursue confiscation of the proceeds of crime. The Commission is structured into a number of sections consisting of operational divisions, support teams and specialist units.
The Corporate Services Division is responsible for delivering integrated, efficient, value for money, and effective planning and services to support the core business of the Commission.

About the role:
The role of Senior System Engineer will work closely with internal stakeholders to produce technical ICT solutions that will support and enhance the operations of the Commission. This role will work with the ICT Operations Manager and the outsourced IT Managed Services provider to help support and deliver ICT services to the Commission.
The Senior System Engineer will have a technical ICT background, with excellent skills in designing and supporting server infrastructure, active directory services, messaging services, cloud services, collaboration services, and end user computing. It is desirable and beneficial if the candidate has experience in working within an “outsourced” environment focused on IT Operations, and has been exposed to Service Delivery and Vendor Management at an operational “day to day” level.

Essential requirements:
Experience working in an outsourced IT environment.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in ICT or equivalent experience.
+5 years’ experience in technical disciplines as described in the role description’s key accountabilities.
Sound customer service orientation with clients, peers, management and external service providers.
Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and participate in cross functional project teams.
Sound understanding of project management methodology.
Knowledge and understanding of the functions and role of the Commission, theNSW Crime Commission Act, and relevant policies and procedures.
Ability to obtain appropriate security clearances.

Key challenges in this role include:
Balancing competing demands from business as usual activities and project delivery timelines.
Transpose stakeholder requests into meaningful, cost effective, technical solutions that bring real value to the Commission.
Developing and maintaining knowledge and technical capability across diverse and dynamic hardware, technologies, platforms and applications.
Maintaining positive and cooperative relationships with IT Managed Service provider and third party support vendors.
