Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARYThe Payroll Officer is an accounting position reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. The position is responsible for ensuring the timely processing of payroll and payment obligations for the participating properties, and assists the Payroll Manager to ensure that the participating properties receive the appropriate levels of service.SCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT / CANDIDATE PROFILEExpected Contributions - primary job responsibilities, however not limited toAssist the Payroll Manager in all aspects of the accounting function, including routine procedures and ad-hoc projects.Process and review hotel payrolls as requiredManual calculation of termination, redundancy and other paymentsPrepare payments of regular payrollsSubmit EFT transfer runs for processing via Bank SoftwarePrepare and verify the monthly accruals for salaries and benefits.Assist the hotels in reconciling the month end actual data and accrualsAssist with payment summaries and financial year endPrepare ad-hoc reportsInteract with the Human Resources and Finance departments in all participating hotelsAssist in gathering and reporting the Shared Service Center's processing metricsAssist in the month end closing process including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.Abide by Company policies and procedures.Carry out any other duties as reasonably requested by Management.Candidate profileMinimum of one year experience in payroll preferredKnowledge of Federal and state wage award legislation and reporting requirements preferredADP and/or E-tivity Labour Management System experience preferred but not essentialAbility to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and/or projections.In depth knowledge of Excel, Word and OutlookAbility to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood by the customer.Well organized and efficient and the ability to multi-taskExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenWillingness to learn new skills.Team oriented person who can focus on the details.Responsible, honest and trustworthyPleasant and professional mannerAbility to interact with hotel associates of difference levelsHigh level attention to detailMarriott International is an equal opportunity employer.
