Northrop Sustainability Section We acknowledge that we live, work and play in buildings, spending more than 80% of our time indoors.
The Sustainability Section is going through a growth phase, with a strong desire to service projects across sustainable communities, green building design, existing building performance and health & wellbeing.
The team is also spearheading to transform engineering consulting to a default base of carbon neutral and climate resilient design.

The Role As a Senior Sustainability Consultant, you will develop and deliver modern, customised and commercially viable solutions for our clients.
You will also contribute to the overall expertise of the team ensuring that we have access to the latest sustainability solutions.
In this key role, within a team that will grow significantly over the next 12 months, you will work on a wide range of challenging projects with a variety of clients.
You will act as a senior Sustainability consultant working on Standalone ESD and multidisciplinary projects across multiple sectors.
You will provide guidance and mentorship, including QA and informal training to junior members of the team and have an aspiration to further develop your client management and stakeholder relationship skills (internally and externally).
Key Accountabilities You will be responsible for: Working closely with the Green Building Council of Australia to deliver a portfolio of Green Star ratings, including the Communities, Buildings, Design As-Built tools.
Leading and managing project delivery for a broad range of building, master planning and advisory projects Monitoring project health, costings, and performance, managing teams, ensuring key dates are met and projects remain within budget.
Coordinating project teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers in relation to green rating assessment tools including (but not limited to) data compilation, calculation, verification, and green rating tool submission.
Embedding Living Building Challenge (LBC) Principles and regenerative design into our projects.
Embedding passive design principles through a sitewide passive design approach with a unique focus on passive heating and cooling techniques and optimal indoor environmental quality, health and wellbeing.
Undertaking and reviewing building physics modelling and analysis.
Liaising directly with clients and running projects to meet client's needs and exceed their expectations.
Undertaking continuous professional education.

Nurturing existing clients and building new client relationships Representing Northrop in internal and external client engagements and industry events, growing our strong local and national sustainability Section.
Preparing bids and generating bid relationships Acting as a mentor to junior consultants providing technical support and guidance on project management and delivery.

You are invited to apply for this role if you meet the following criteria: It is essential that you have demonstrated experience as a Senior Sustainability Consultant in the built environment consulting field, including project management, building sustainability design and delivery of ESD projects.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Sustainability or Engineering.
ESD Strategy development and design thinking is essential.
Green Building Consulting and Certification Experience - As Built and Buildings are essential NCC Section J Compliance 2022 - DTS and JV3 Modelling is essential Modelling Experience across GHGE, Daylight, NatHERS, BASIX, Passivehaus, Parametric and LCA.
NABERS Energy and Water modelling would be desirable.
Strong working knowledge of other sustainability rating tools, including the WELL Standard and the Living Building Challenge (LBC) frameworks.
Experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) using E-tool or equivalent software is desirable.
IES/Design Builder experience is desirable.
Job Management Skills are essential: Project Planning, good level of communication and being able to articulate complex solutions.
Client Management and consulting experience is essential, being able to demonstrate good client side thinking.
Business development and proposals experience is essential: Proposal writing, client pursuits and nurturing.
