This position is also responsible for preparing and updating all mine surveying plans on the mine site.This role is a permanent, full-time, FIFO opportunity on a 4:3, 4:3, 8:6 roster from Perth to our Mt Holland mine site.Key Responsibilities:Health, Safety, Environment and CommunityActive participation in the establishment of a health and safety culture.Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements and Covalent policies & procedures.Comply with all health and safety, environmental and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are reported.Technical/Functional/RoleEnsure regular attendance at all relevant safety meetings.Ensure the importance of compliance is always promoted to Covalent employees, contractors and all external contractors and visitors.Ensure regular feedback is provided to the safety and training departments to ensure standards and procedures are continually improved and therefore seen as relevant by the greater workforce.Ensure personal compliance with, and contribute to the development and improvement of, company safety requirements and standards with the aim of reducing the risk of injury and improving productivity.Ensure risk assessment and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA's) are completed as required.Ensure all incidents are reported in the relevant system.Ensure correct radio protocols are always followed.Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is made available to external contractors and visitors.Ensure no piece of survey related equipment commences work on site without the relevant risk management process first being completed.Comply with Regulations, Orders, and such directives.Comply with the camp rules and regulations.Responsible for using survey equipment supplied by Covalent which will include total stations, RTK GPS, laser scanners, photogrammetry, unmanned aerial vehicles, specific high accuracy measuring equipment, and any other speciality equipment required to complete any spatial task required by Covalent.Management of the GPS base station system.Provision of technical expertise for installation and maintenance of High Precision GPS systems on mining equipment.Ensure all equipment is operating in accordance with the internal training guidelines and any other guidelines as specified by the manufacturer.Provide technical and subject matter expertise for fault finding.Provide training to equipment operators in the use of the machine control system.File administration of designs and surfaces in machine control units.Management of the Fleet Management System HPGPS data and the Mine Surface Model.Measure and stake out mining areas as defined by the Mine Plans.Compile spatial data to update maps and models of all operations across the Mine, Process plant, Village, Airport.Compile specific high accuracy measurements of critical structures across the Mine and Process plant to monitor deformation developments.Ensure prism monitoring is carried out accurately and efficiently.Measurement of slope stability in the pits and dumps and subsidence around major infrastructure.Periodic capturing of dump, stockpiles, mining faces, and any other spatial volume required for end of period reporting.Report to the Manager Mine Operations on progress and advances, change and/or work done during the respective month, or any periodic interval as desired by the company.Provision of spatial control for aerial, terrestrial, and UAV photogrammetry.Maintain and operate Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to provide critical spatial information across the Mine and Process plant.Supervise all UAV missions under Covalent Operation Certificate.Provide wear rate measurements of critical structures across the Mine and Process plant.Report all specific deformation developments of critical structures across the Mine and Process plan to relevant departments.Capture spatial data for vegetation mapping, rehabilitation, and vegetation control and eradication purposes.Capturing aerial data using the UAV systems for blast monitoring and measuring purposes.Be on call to capture all spatial data of incidents for investigation purposes and reporting to the Mine Department.Provision of survey control for geological face and structure deformation mapping.Set out and measurement of roads.Measurement of all spatial requirements for contractual payments.Provision of survey skills for business management and improvement projects.Provision or checking of survey information for "Permit to Dig" and Ground Disturbance Permits.Ensure the demand chain is provided with all information required for them to promptly and accurately complete execution planning. This may include, but is not limited to:Survey information gathered and processed by the surveyor to satisfy the requirementsMine and dump facesPit shapeVolumesEnsure any geospatial issues which might impact the ability to meet the shift plan are clearly communicated to the relevant employees and contractors.Immediately report deviations of mining activities from the designs to the Manager Technical Services and the Production Team.Train (as necessary) Remote Pilots who work under the authority of the Mt. Holland UAV procedures.Complete and provide any and all spatial data for financial reporting and auditable purposes.Survey of Exploration drill holes.Management of Survey equipment inventories.Management of Survey personnel rosters and individual professional development programs.Financial/BudgetManage relevant budget and expenditure.Ensure compliance with budget and expenditure protocols and procedures.Create purchase requisitions and review invoices against scope of work.Leadership and TeamEnsure effective working relationships are built and maintained with other departments and stakeholders, both internal and external.Contribute as a member of the Covalent team in establishing our desired organisational culture.Support and coach team members, managers, and employees.Role Requirements:Minimum of 8 years' experience working on a mine site and a further 2 years in supervisory role.Degree Qualified in SurveyingConstruction White CardC Class Manual Drivers LicenseFirst Aid CertificationGrade 2 AuthorisationRemote Pilot License (RePL) - Multi-rotor
