Chubb APAC Surety has been a market leading surety in ANZ and broader Asia since 1994. Our underwriting team is growing and there is currently an opportunity for a Senior level Underwriter or Underwriter to join our APAC team. This role will have development pathways to assume greater responsibilities over time, and in terms of succession, the right candidate would have opportunities to develop country and/ or regional responsibilities. Seniority of the job title will depend on relevant experience of the successful candidate.
Your Responsibilities
Initially, assist our APAC Surety geographical managers with:
Financial and credit risk analysis of APAC Surety customers and prospects.Risk assessment and analysis of individual bonded risks – including project, underlying contract, regulatory & market factors.Build and document detailed credit and risk review recommendations.Identify, assess and convert prospect / opportunity pipeline.Work with other regions to develop & convert coordinated prospecting plans on multi-national pipeline.Deliver profitable premium, zero loss target and managing pricing, commissions and expenses and evidencing ROE principles per line of business guidelines.Assist project risk facultative reinsurance, internal and external, as required.Assist supervision and servicing of indigenous books in Malaysia and Japan.Assist with fronting requests and issuances across APAC capabilities.Booking process – bond number allocation through to premium booking (local systems and interacting with inter and intra region systems). Work with Finance across any allocated country / region to effect same.Contribute to APAC Surety financial and strategic / tactical planning.Contribute to department administrative, process and policy requirements and development (including documentation).There will be initial weighting towards our Asian book, but over time we expect this role to exhibit capability to have greater autonomy and responsibility for select books/ markets.
