Senior Support Worker

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated Dementia Care team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients living with dementia. You will also mentor and support team members, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care in a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.
Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities: Planning and implementing the Dementia Support Program with individual support plans providing program and support to 3 clients with support from other team members.Onboarding new clients and setting up in Penelope.Care Planning.This is Me documentation.Facilitating carer support group and sourcing guest speakers monthly (4-6pm).Oversight of the overnight respite program commencing in January.Oversight of DREAM program / Training through University of Tasmania (carers and staff members).Proposed Hours of Work: Monday – 08:00-14:30
Tuesday – 08:30-14:30
Thursday – 08:00-16:00
Friday – 08:00-14:30
Weekend overnight respite commencing January 2025 Desired Skills and ExperienceQualifications and Experience: Certificate IV in Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent or working towards.Minimum of 2 years' experience working in dementia care or a similar role.Strong understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families.Proven ability to work effectively in a team and supervise staff.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and empathy.Current First Aid and CPR certification.A valid driver's licence and reliable transport.Previous experience in a leadership or senior support role.Additional qualifications in dementia care or related fields.
