Located at Curtin University, Bentley Campus Job Reference: 1256334 Your new role As a Senior Student Fees and Visa Compliance Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting both the financial aspects of student enrolment and international student visa compliance.
You will deliver specialised services within the Student Administration, Fees, and Student Visa Compliance Unit.
Your primary focus will be providing high-quality, customer-oriented support to students, university staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring they receive accurate information regarding their financial obligations, fee-related services, and visa requirements.
In this role, some of the key areas you will be responsible for are: Coordinating the issuance of tuition fees, invoices, and Commonwealth Assistance Notices (CAN) Managing processes associated with student debt write-offs and account reconciliations Providing timely and accurate advice regarding student fee structures, student visa compliance, and student eligibility for HELP Loans Coordinating student visa-related tasks, including issuing and maintaining confirmation of Enrolments (CoEs) and PRISMS reporting Developing and implementing procedures for managing student debts and enrolment cancellations for both financial and visa non-compliance Offering guidance to team members and acting as an advisory authority for the university on student fee invoicing and visa-related matters.
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong analytical mindset and enjoy problem-solving with both financial data and compliance regulations.
You will also have advanced Excel skills with the ability to use complex formulas, create macros, and develop comprehensive data analysis reports.
Prior demonstrable experience in higher education administration, finance, or compliance roles is essential.
In-depth knowledge of Australian higher education fee structures, visa regulations, and relevant legislative frameworks (such as ESOS and HESA) will be highly regarded.
As this is a continuing (Permanent) opportunity, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.

Essential: Completion of a degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated experience in a dynamic customer service environment.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply expertise regarding university policy, procedures and guidelines.
Proven supervisory experience with the ability to provide guidance and communicate outcomes to others in a team.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with customers and staff at all levels and produce correspondence and published material of a high quality Demonstrated strong time management and organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, proven scheduling/prioritising skills and an ability to coordinate projects.
Demonstrated effective analytical skill and the ability to resolve complex issues.
Demonstrated well-developed numerical and/or financial calculation skills.
Desirable: Experience working in a university or higher education environment, particularly in a student service environment.
Experience using an electronic records management system and an appreciation of the need for accuracy and data integrity.
Knowledge of Government Loans Scheme (HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, SA-HELP).
Understanding of Higher Education Support Act 2003, ESOS Act 2000 and National Code 2018.
