We are seeking a motivated individual looking to take the next step in their Structural Engineering career to work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects based in our Brisbane or Gold Coast office. Our projects span the lifecycle of project delivery from feasibility studies through to detailed design packages, as well as the assessment and upgrading of existing assets. The role: As a Structural Engineer in our water team, you will take on a key role within project teams undertaking the design and assessment of a variety of water and wastewater structures. Some examples include concrete process tanks, pump stations, reservoirs, and associated facilities. Perform more advanced structural engineering design tasks on assigned projects under minimal supervision, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies. Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for small size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts. Collaborate with stakeholders in client project requirement meetings, coordination meetings with internal and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors in preparation and coordination of project specifications. Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors to develop solutions. Perform on technically complex projects and may act as a technical resource to other team members. Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of structural engineering and keep informed of new methods and developments. Apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited. Assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation. About you: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering – with an emphasis in Structural Engineering. Holding or working towards RPEQ and/or Chartership is highly regarded. 4+ years' experience within a consulting engineering practice. Involvement in the structural design of civil or industrial infrastructure with a focus on concrete and steel. Under the supervision of a national team, willing to develop and expand your structural engineering experience in water and wastewater infrastructure. Expertise with working with a wide range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, and commercial companies. Strong ability to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting work relationships with our clients and colleagues both locally and across the broader Stantec team. Possess strong problem-solving abilities to develop practical solutions to a variety of structural engineering challenges, both at the desktop and in the field. Past site experience, including inspections and construction support would be highly regarded.
