Job Description At AECOM, we are passionate about the future of the Hunter Region.
As a result of a significant project pipeline, AECOM is looking to grow its Civil Structures team in Newcastle with the addition of a 'Senior Structural Engineer'.
In the role of Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for developing deliverables ranging from condition investigation reports, presentation of analyses, and other design documentation in accordance with Australian standards and client specifications, whilst supervising and supporting junior engineers.
Ideally, you will have prior experience in the following areas:
Development of concept solutions for Water, Transportation and/or Energy infrastructure Inspection and assessment of existing structural assets Delivery of analysis & design of solutions for Water, Transportation and/or Energy infrastructure Experience in supporting construction related activities. You will work within a well-established and highly experienced Newcastle engineering team – as well as with other teams within AECOM's extensive network of professionals – on a range of civil infrastructure projects for a broad range of clients on local, regional, and inter-state projects.
Qualifications The successful candidate will possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering. Extensive experience with a focus on Water, Transportation and/or Energy Infrastructure projects. Strong competency in project and commercial management. Mature engineering judgement whilst contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions, including the ability to identify constraints, opportunities, and buildability issues based upon site conditions, analysis, experience, and judgement. Capability in the planning and organisation of tasks, people, project programmes, and fee proposals. Ability to undertake/lead/oversee the development of structural analysis and design. Ability to prepare written design reports, technical specifications, and other technical documentation in a manner which is clear, concise, professional and appropriate to the intended audience. A sound understanding of, and capability with the application of relevant structural design methods, Australian standards, client specifications and structural engineering software.
