Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer (Oil & Gas) to join our growing team in Darwin, NT.
This is a permanent role to join our expanding Oil and Gas Operations team, due to recently securing several large projects with existing long-term clients, in addition to partnering with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry to provide Brownfield Engineering, Procurement and Construction services on a long-term, Engineering Service Contract.
Wood's Operations Australia / Asia Pacific (West) business delivers engineering & brownfield modifications, operations & maintenance, procurement, construction, asset management and optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas sector - with long-term partnerships supporting the region's most prominent producers located in the Northern Territory, Western Australia, and South-East Asia.
Reporting to directly to the Head of Discipline in Structural and Civil, you will be working across FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery, with a focus on design.
To be successful in your Senior Structural Engineer role, you will have prior Senior engineer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements.
Your responsibilities will be:
Structural engineering activities across the project life cycle (Concept, FEED, detailed design) to produce fit for purpose solution Produce cost effective Structural engineering reports, documents and deliverables for inclusion in workpacks Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule Provide technical assistance to others when required You will be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia.

What will set you apart will be you are currently based in Darwin / willing to relocate to Darwin.
Ideally, you will be a suitably qualified engineer with a degree from a recognized institution and have proven experience in the Oil & Gas sector in Australia.
In addition, you will have:
6+ years relevant experience as a Structural Engineer in Oil & Gas Experience in Offshore site environment and site surveying/scoping Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the client Effective time management skills and ability to prioritise Experience in the use of relevant software packages (e.g.
