Wood is recruiting for a Senior Structural Designer to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory as part of its Operations APAC West business.
Wood delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimisation and technical services to the oil and gas sector and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers, actively supporting operations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Reporting directly to the Structural Design Manager and working as part of the Wood core design team, you will act as a piping designer on brownfields oil & gas projects while taking responsibility for the design.

This role will be based in the Wood Darwin office, reporting to the Structural Lead.
To be successful you have prior senior designer level working experience in the Offshore LNG, Oil & Gas sectors within an EPCM engineering and maintenance project environment with both onshore and offshore scope of work engagements with particular emphasis on Brownfields modifications.
What we are looking for: Demonstrated capability of performing the full range of discipline design and analysis Demonstrated ability to work independently with good initiative and interpersonal skills Technical associate's degree or equivalent in education and/or experience Demonstrated ability to check piping deliverables Self starter with the ability to guide / train junior level designers.
Tertiary qualified in Engineering / Drafting Minimum of 10 years piping design experience in the oil and gas industry Understanding of discipline technology and other discipline requirements Ability to problem solve effectively Attention to detail Competency in E3 D & S3 D CAD systems.
