About the Opportunity Join Tactix-Sener as a Senior Structural Design Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive structural design solutions for major infrastructure projects. This role involves leading a team in developing detailed designs for complex structures, including retaining walls, tunnels, underground structures, foundations, and metallic structures. You'll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust, high-quality, and fully coordinated design outcomes.
We are open to candidates based in Queensland and the East Coast.
As a Senior Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Lead a team of structural engineers for delivery of detailed design.Mentor junior structural engineers to support their learning and growth.Interpret and understand the project scope and technical requirements.Lead on delivery of detailed design, calculations, reports and specifications for structures discipline different scopes: retaining walls, tunnels support, underground structures, foundations and metallic structures.Provide detailed technical advice.Liaise with M&E, architects, structural and civil disciplines to communicate requirements and develop fully coordinated design outcomes.Participate and contribute to peer review and multi-disciplinary review sessions for design assurance purposes.Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.Participate in safety in design workshops and actively implement outcomes.Act as technical authority for detailed discussions with client and relevant project stakeholders.Understand the design delivery program and manage competing priorities to ensure design packages are delivered on time and to the appropriate standard. Report progress and constraints, manage addressed design hours and communicate shortages to managers.Consider constructability in all design outcomes and consult with relevant team members to ensure that design outcomes are constructible.Actively promote digital engineering principles and follow project workflows/procedures for: front end design, detailing and submission.Required Experience: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering.Minimum 10 - 15 years' experience working on design of Mechanical systems for major infrastructure projects.Working knowledge of relevant Australian Standards.Experience in delivery of detailed design and documentation for a major infrastructure project.Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Experience and detailed technical understanding of infrastructures projects, specifically: tunnelling, underground structures, foundations and retaining walls.Proven ability in managing a team in design delivery phase.Ability to manage priorities and set clear expectations for direct reports.Experience in mentoring other engineers in this field.Experience in managing and reporting against the integrated program schedule including Earned Value determination.Management of Design budgets and forecasting of resources & costs.Dedication to "Safety in Design" principles.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.Demonstrated experience of managing and delivering design solutions.Demonstrated ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegation skills.Additional Preferred Experience: Chartered Professional Engineer, CPEng (or similar).Previous relevant role for road or rail projects.Experience using Mathcad, SAP2000 and/or Midas.Highly valuable PLAXIS experience.Design experience using BIM and digital engineering tools.Understanding of constructability issues.What We Offer: A positive team culture, flexible working arrangements, opportunities to be part of unique and transformative projects while learning from industry experts.
