We have an opportunity for a Senior Manager Strategic Planning to join our technical department in a dynamic, international environment. This position was created through our recent operating model update to build on the global nature and impact of our business.
Reporting to the Vice President Strategic Planning, this role manages the Gold Fields strategic planning process, advances the strategic framework through guiding and influencing, and integrates analytics and expert technical and planning direction for internal growth opportunities. This role requires collaboration and effective communication with the Asset and Functional teams to develop strategic plans aligned to the corporate objectives of the business, enabling decision-making at the asset and portfolio levels.

Collaborate and communicate strategic planning guidance effectively to the functions, assets, and senior management. Analyze and present strategic options available for each asset. Identify and deliver improved strategic intelligence systems that help quantify, understand, and resolve the strategic tension between cash flow, margin, growth, and balance sheet. Provide leadership for the development of planning tools and knowledge to increase strategic agility and control. Consolidate the strategic plans into the portfolio profile for review and debate by the Gold Fields executive committee for strategy setting and portfolio management activities. Provide timely and pertinent advice regarding mine planning inputs for internal growth and portfolio management activities. Build collaborative alliances with the function and asset teams to facilitate the accomplishment of strategic objectives through identifying opportunities to improve current practices or challenge the status quo. About you: Relevant graduate degree in Engineering (Mining or similar). Displayed skills in data analytics and visualization. Extensive demonstrated industry experience in a technical capacity with operational time desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of various underground and open-pit mining operating practices. Strong financial acumen and understanding of business drivers as well as portfolio cash flow modeling. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across different functions and geographical locations.
