As a Senior Strategic Planner, you will be responsible for providing a strategic framework and direction for land use planning strategies, policies, and environmental management in Sutherland Shire. You'll lead project teams, conduct research, and offer expert advice to stakeholders, contributing to the development of the community. Key Responsibilities As a Senior Strategic Planner, you will: Contribute to planning and decision-making processes in the preparation of land use planning strategies and policies for Sutherland Shire Contribute to, and on occasions lead, project teams dealing with issues associated with the functions and responsibilities of Strategic Planning Undertake research and prepare policy papers and reports for Council's consideration Mentor junior members of the team Assist customers with planning enquiries Your Profile As the ideal candidate, you will have significant experience (4 + years) in planning within NSW, in either local government, state government or consultancy, as well as: A degree or post graduate qualification in urban planning or environmental planning Strong knowledge of planning legislation and practises Excellent research, analytical, and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Experience in GIS, computer modelling, and graphics is desirable but not essential.
