An exciting opportunity exists for a full-time Senior Strategic Planner to join Council. Reporting directly to the Manager of Strategic Planning, the role will support in the delivery of quality strategic planning projects and initiatives, including the Local Strategic Planning Statement Land Use Actions, Local Environmental Plan amendments and a range of strategic land use policies and plans. What Council can Offer Competitive salary based on skills and experience plus 10.5% superannuation. Continual Professional Development allowance. Rostered day off every 4 weeks. The Successful Applicant will require: Tertiary planning qualifications or tertiary qualification in an affiliated field to planning that is recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia; Minimum five (5) years experience in strategic land use planning or similar in a Local Government; Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact at all levels to both internal and external stakeholders on technical advice and policy issues relevant to this position; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the relevant planning legislation, principles and practices at the highest level of expertise; Motivation to undertake continued professional development to ensure that technical skills are up to date; Proven ability to perform successful negotiation and conflict resolution to achieve satisfactory outcomes; Proven ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget; Current class C driver's licence. The salary range being offered for the position of Senior Strategic Planner is $3233 - $3639 per fortnight (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience) plus superannuation.
