The Paediatric Services are supported by a very experienced and courteous Nursing and Midwifery Staff. They contribute immensely to the training of medical students, RMOs and Trainee registrars in the department. We also have a pharmacist attached to the department that provides pharmaceutical information and other medication related guidance on ward rounds on a daily basis.
The Level 4 Special Care Nursery has C.P.A.P. and ventilator capabilities, undertaking short term respiratory support for newborns, or stabilisation before transfer to a Tertiary facility for ongoing management. Infants born less than 32 weeks gestation are transferred in-utero if possible, in consultation with the Obstetric team.
About the role:This role is primarily located at Rockhampton Hospital however you will be expected to deliver services in other locations with CQHHS. The person appointed will assist the Director of Paediatrics in:
Ensuring that Paediatric services provided by CQHHS are of the highest standard and delivered in a reliable and cost-effective manner given available resources.Providing professional leadership and direction to medical staff within the department.The provision of clinical services in Rockhampton Hospital and other sites in Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service. CQHHS is one service, provided at multiple sites. In order to meet service needs the Specialist may be required to provide clinical services at any other facility within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service outside Rockhampton Hospital, in line with the clinical services capability of that facility.About you:Mandatory qualification/s: MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Possession of qualifications and experience appropriate for registration as a Specialist in Paediatrics in Australia, i.e., Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP – Paediatrics and Child Health) or equivalent.Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College, Royal Australasian College of Physicians RACP.What we offer:Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $528,432 p.a. is comprised of:
A salary rate between $251,527 - $266,677 p.a. (L25 – L27)A salary rate between $210,332 - $244,313 p.a.
