As a Senior Staff Platform Engineer, you'll take a leadership role in driving the optimisation, automation, and security of our virtual hosting platform.
This position involves implementing Site Reliability Engineering practices, managing distributed storage systems, and mentoring junior engineers.
Your expertise with automation, advance load balancing, storage management, monitoring and virtualisation, will be instrumental in building resilient infrastructures that meet the organisation's dynamic needs.
Key Responsibilities Lead infrastructure automation initiatives with IaC, ensuring streamlined, consistent resource deployment across all environments.
Oversee and optimize traffic management using AVI Load Balancer, focusing on scalability and fault tolerance to maintain high availability.
Architect and manage scalable virtual resources with VMware, CEPH, and MinIO, supporting high-demand applications and data integrity.
Implement Calico for secure, efficient container networking and enforce network policies for distributed applications.
Establish monitoring best practices, manage incident response frameworks, and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of reliability and collaboration.
Key Skills & Qualifications Extensive experience in platform engineering, DevOps, and SRE, with a strong focus on infrastructure reliability.
Advanced proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
In-depth knowledge of distributed storage systems (e.g., CEPH, MinIO).
In-depth knowledge of DevSecOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and security automation.
Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Github actions, Cloud Formation.
Strong background in deploying and managing monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Splunk) to ensure system reliability and performance.
Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies, networks, virtualisation, and containerisation (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
