A hybrid model of working is offered, which includes working from home, meeting with consumers in their natural surroundings or within our offices in Berwick, Narre Warren, Cranbourne and/or Pakenham.
As a Windermere Paediatric Speech Pathologist, you will manage a caseload and:
Deliver a broad range of evidence-informed intervention strategies, standardised assessments and parent training to increase communication and active participation in social and educational settings for children;Undertake face-to-face consultation and relationship building in natural environments, schools and kindergartens as well as our modern office facilities and therapy spaces;Liaise and collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to design and deliver comprehensive support plans;Provide key worker support and advice to families and children in relation to speaking, listening, understanding language, fluency and social skills;Provide discipline-specific assessment and intervention to children aged 0-12 years and their families with a range of disabilities.To succeed in this role, you should be confident and enthusiastic with a 'can-do' attitude.
You should be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet set targets, as well as being part of a collaborative, family-focused and holistic transdisciplinary team.
Adaptability and resilience are essential, and you should thrive in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement of your practice ensures you make a real and lasting difference to the lives of your consumers.
Technical Skills & Professional Experience: You will have a tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and hold a current registration with Speech Pathology Australia.
Furthermore, you will have specialist knowledge and relevant demonstrated experience within a paediatric practice.
Key Selection Criteria: Tertiary qualifications in Speech Pathology with current and ongoing registration with Speech Pathology AustraliaMinimum 4 years' experience managing, supervising and leading staff through a coaching approachMinimum 6 years' discipline-specific clinical experience, with sound theoretical knowledge in Paediatric practice for children aged 0-12Demonstrated knowledge of typical development and common conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and developmental delayKnowledge and skills in the assessment, implementation and evaluation of plans and services for children & familiesThe ability to meet service delivery KPIs and provide a consumer-focused, high-quality and responsive serviceDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently, including in office-based or remote off-site locationsDemonstrated ability to effectively manage time in a fast-paced, complex service environmentRegistration with MedicareAbility to use a computer and all relevant technologyWillingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checksWillingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessibleRight to Work in Australia e.g.
