Senior Specialist, Systems and Integration (In Emergency Management) Full Time, Fixed Term position until 1 August 2025 Attractive VPS 6 salary between $ 134,593 - $180,115 + superannuation Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency. EM Technology and Data The business unit is responsible for both national and state technology platforms that enable communications to and from the community, sector operational communications and sector information systems. The EM Technology business unit is responsible for delivering the following the key functions of: Strategy & Enterprise Architecture Investment Planning Support & Development Procurement & Program Delivery Vendor & Contract Management What will the role do? Utilise your technical and project management expertise to provide support and advice to several inflight projects including Impact Assessment Systems, Data Platform and Analytics. You will be a strategic thinker with senior level experience leading the design, integration and optimisation of end-to-end data systems. Key duties include: The Senior Specialist, Systems and Integration leads the design, integration and optimisation of end-to-end data systems that underpin EM Tech and Data. The role translates business needs into technical specifications and works with technical teams or vendors to implement the changes. The Senior Specialist also leads audits of data systems and assesses functionality against business requirements. What skills and knowledge should the Senior Specialist, Systems and Integration have? As our ideal candidate, you will have: Proven senior level experience leading projects to understand business priorities and using data systems to solve problems. Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of: SQL, R, Excel, Python, Scala, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or ESRI. Experience with designing and managing data environments, systems and management processes to ensure data quality and robust data architecture. Understand the requirements of the Information Privacy Principles (outlined in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic)), the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and DJCS' data governance standards and guidelines. A tertiary qualification in statistics, data analysis, data science, mathematics, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
