Lihir Operation is a tier-one open cut mining operation based on Aniolam island, in the Lihir Group of Islands, located in New Ireland Province approximately 800km north of Port Moresby. It is one of the world's largest producing gold mines and is located on a geothermally active extinct volcanic crater. Production first commenced in 1997.
About this Role Reporting to the Security Principal, this role will ensure that all security performance standards and criteria are met.
Your role will consist of:
Manages and ensures effective government relations that impact security service delivery to siteEnsures compliance and renewal of all security related licensing and permit renewalsProvides annual security report to the PNG Security Industry AuthorityEnsures that documented processes, procedures and instructions comply with relevant PNG acts and legislationEnsure delivery of the site Security Verification ProgramOversee compliance to the Gold Control StandardEnsure site compliance to Voluntary Principles on Security and Human RightsMentor, train and provide direct support to Production, Operational, Training and investigation functionsDelivers work within approved budget managing any variancesActively seeks cost reduction opportunitiesDevelop team members through regular feedback, coaching and formal trainingDrives and influences proactive safety behavioursYour training, skills and experience checklist Here is what we would need to see from you!
Extensive experience working in the Security, Police and Military industries in a Senior Supervisory role is beneficialDemonstrated experience and knowledge of security management systems, programs and proceduresAbility to report and case manage investigationsAbility to assess and disseminate information relating to security intelligence, crime and incident trendsAbility to assess and then deliver bespoke security packages for both training and operations supportCertificate IV in Training and Assessment or PNG NTC CertificateQualifications in appropriate security disciplines desirableSelf-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomouslyExcellent attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlinesBe able to work a FIFO roster in PNGAbility to complete a pre-employment medical assessmentMust be able to complete a National Police Check & Navex Risk Rate ScreeningAbility to satisfy all requirements for PNG Work Permit and VisaWorking conditions and location This role is offered on a 22:20 Fly in, Fly out (FIFO) roster from Australia to Lihir Island.
