About the roleThe Senior Specialist – Design facilitates collaboration across the organisation to strategically grow our program areas by leading design processes that allow us to innovatively respond at scale to emerging and complex challenges.
In this role you will facilitate design approaches across the organization with a particular focus on enabling us to scale our response nationwide through designing with SMEs, communities, partners and the sector to develop initiatives that address unmet humanitarian need and respond to funding opportunities.
The role will work closely with the technical specialists to progress business development pipelines and opportunities, and with Red Cross people, clients and communities to ensure new and innovative ways of working are built into our design.
About youYou have substantial experience in collaboration and program design, including expertise in design methodologies and frameworks.
Experience working with individuals, communities and/or families affected by emergencies, migration, or significant disadvantage in a community services' organisation or similar setting.
Proven experience in facilitating design approaches within a community setting.
A strong track record of thinking creatively and innovatively to address complex social challenges and identify new opportunities for programmatic growth and impact.
Experience in engaging clients and communities to successfully co-design and implement new initiatives that respond to need.
Experience working with a range of audiences across complex organisations to drive collaboration and consensus to reach a common goal.
Experience working with funding partners to understand their need and deliver solutions that address both funder and operational requirements.
Ability to deliver deep design work as well as rapid design, when required, and a strong understanding of how to prioritise with restricted time and resources.
Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with the ability to work effectively in diverse cultural contexts and with individuals from different backgrounds, demonstrating respect, empathy, and inclusivity.
Experience working with resilience, climate and/or emergencies sector desirable.
