About The Role As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in eliminating technical barriers, empowering our sales and partnerships team to demonstrate to high growth, high volume, and complex merchants how Shopify can fuel their business growth. You'll consult on their e-commerce technology stack and business objectives, guiding them to optimally leverage and build with the Shopify platform and ecosystem. Your expertise will be crucial in advising on best practices for complex integrations and setting up these merchants for long-term success. Solutions Engineers are more than just technical experts; they are the trusted advisor of Shopify, embodying our brand, values, and product.
Your role will include merchant-facing activities, such as remote and on-site engagements with merchants, and supporting community events. Partnering with large Shopify Plus merchants across the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, with a focus on Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), your insights will be invaluable in providing feedback to Shopify's Product, Engineering, and User Experience teams. This position will report into the APAC Solutions Engineering Lead.
Qualifications Requirements for the role: 3-5+ years of experience in e-commerce or B2B related pre-sales solutions engineering. An expert in commerce systems, Shopify, region-specific commerce applications, ecosystems, and integrations. Great troubleshooting and analytical skills combined with the desire to tackle challenges head-on. Behaviors aligned with experimentation, learning, and teaching our growing enterprise customers, partner agencies, and internal teams. A builder at heart, comfortable making minor code adjustments, comprehending technological frameworks, and familiar with web APIs, middleware, and front-end development, without needing to be a full-stack developer. A genuine care for the outcomes of our stakeholders and customers. Your responsibilities will include: Providing support to our sales and partner teams across various channels. Advising merchants (including their development partners) on technical solutions to ensure the best business success on the platform. Creating customized product demos and proofs of concept for live or recorded virtual client demonstrations. Exploring innovative ways to develop on the platform and addressing inquiries about our APIs. Mentoring and coaching the sales team on the technical aspects of Shopify. Acting as a strong advocate and trusted advisor for the merchant, while bringing your insights and knowledge to our product teams.
