About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Senior Solution Designer with a strong data background to join our client's dynamic team in the financial services sector.
This is a permanent role offering the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects.
As a Solution Designer, you will be responsible for designing end-to-end solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies to meet both business and technical needs, with a key focus on data architecture, integration, and analytics.
Treasury experience is highly preferred as you will work closely with stakeholders in this space, ensuring robust, scalable, and compliant solutions that align with financial and regulatory requirements.
Candidates without treasury experience but strong recent financial services experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:Lead the design of scalable and reliable solutions, focusing on data integration, architecture, and analytics to support the business's financial objectives.Collaborate with internal stakeholders (business, IT, and treasury teams) to understand and gather requirements, translating them into detailed design specifications.Work closely with development teams to ensure that solutions are effectively implemented, following the design principles.Oversee data governance and ensure all solutions comply with security and regulatory requirements, particularly within a treasury context.Continuously evaluate new technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior solution designers and developers.Facilitate the creation of data models, data flows, and the integration of data across systems.Key Skills & Experience:Proven experience as a Solution Designer within financial services.Must have strong batch data ingestion/processing experience.Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and integration—must be able to design data-driven solutions.Experience of legacy and modern data related technologies - SQL Server, Azure, Synapse, SPARK & SQL.Experience with data governance, analytics, and reporting tools.Solid understanding of treasury operations and processes (highly preferred).Familiarity with financial systems, compliance, and regulatory reporting.Ability to translate complex business needs into simple, effective technical designs.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.What's on offer:The chance to work on a huge data migration project for a leading financial services client in a hybrid working model based in their Sydney office with a 2/3 day WFH split.
