This team is responsible for proactively maintaining, enhancing, and efficiently operating a suite of technology assets that Business Lending depends on.How will I help?As the Senior Solution Designer, your responsibilities include;Work effectively individually and with team members towards customer satisfaction and successExperience and Knowledge of Agile and Scrum Process and coordinate with distributed teamsBe keenly aware of timelines and budgeting to deliver in a timely mannerAbide by team coding standards, development processes and best practicesDesign solutions from the vision, down to the application and infrastructure architecture levelContribute to the transformation and evolution of our enterprise architecturePro-actively define new measures to meet business needs, improve efficient, and improve agilityDevelop solution architecture documents and review technical documents from Solution Architects for projects in the credit cards and collections domainIdentify opportunities to leverage group capabilities, shared domain capabilities for projects within the Business Lending landscapeIdentify design issues that could impact other services within domain and proposing common designRecognize opportunities to increase agility and reduce costs and risks for design affecting not only at project but also across domain levelPromote Agile practices and ceremoniesIdentify and engage relevant stakeholders, including architecture disciplines, asset owners, delivery owner, business stakeholders and SMEs to ensure the solution is optimal, and has the greatest chance of successDevelop Solution Architectures and associated documents (TSA and HLSD) for a project. Architecture should respond to the function and non-functional requirements and extend or leverage strategic assets where relevantParticipate in concept and planning stagesLead workshops and engage stakeholders as requiredLead and participate in problem solving to deliver large scale change through process engineering, technology, and people engagementProvide an architectural governance function for the design and build deliverables to ensure traceability of the built solution to the architectural principles and business objectivesWork with the Westpac Enterprise Architecture team to manage the alignment of the program's architecture to the Bank's Enterprise ArchitectureLead the technical design process coordinating the various stakeholders from business and towards an agreed solutionWhat is in it for me?You will play an important and significant part in the future of a business that has been around for 200 years. Experience in selecting and implementing methodologies with focus on Lean and Agile methodologies.To be successful in this Senior Solution Designer role, you will have the following skills:10+ years of experience in solution design and application development using multiple technologies using Java, J2EE, Hibernate, EJB, Web Services, XML, REST, Spring, Spring Boot and HibernateExposure to the financial industry preferably banking10+ years of experience in application design and solution with integration with complex downstream systems.5+ API design and development experience for MicroservicesExperience with systems development (Agile and Waterfall), support and maintenance and experience with systems integrationAnalysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skillsFull web technology stack (e.g HTTP, cookies, headers, asset loading/cachingExperience in TDDShell scripting and Java experience (Hibernate, Spring and Spring Boot)Relational databases experience in design and development (SQL and Oracle)Experience with systems development, support and maintenance, with experience with systems integrationKnowledge of CS including responsive design, grid patterns and modern web formsRequire JS/Common JS modulesDevOps experience (AWS, Ansible and Jenkins)Expert in enterprise architecture, including integration technologies using JMS, MQ, REST API and Web Services and J2EEExperience in delivering major business solutions into production within multiple project teamsKnowledge of Enterprise Architect disciplines and frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)Excellent stakeholder management skillsStrong communication and inter-personal skillsEducation:Tertiary level qualifications in IT, Computer Science, or a related disciplineWhat is it like to work here?As well as good pay and a great culture, joining the Westpac family means you will get some of the best banking, wealth, and insurance benefits in the market.
