Mount Isa Baptist Church is seeking under the guidance of the Holy Spirit a full-time solo/senior pastor to lead our congregation as we fulfil our mission of "Making Jesus known through our local church, regional footprint and global impact."Mount Isa is a remote mining community in North West Queensland. It is a long way from anywhere, amidst a rugged but beautiful landscape. Our community can at times be transient, but we also have a solid stable base of long-term congregation members. Many of our congregants are a long way from "home" and come to count on one another as family.Mount Isa Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers that meets corporately once per week. Our church is characterized by conservative evangelical theology and practice. A solid biblical foundation unites our fellowship and underpins our programs. We are deeply invested in children's ministry and hope to grow that into flourishing youth and young adult ministry in the coming years. Our church has strong connections to missions locally, regionally, and globally. We also have a united desire to grow our evangelism to the unbelievers in our community, recognizing significant opportunity for greater engagement in community outreach in the future.The pastor we seek will be committed to teaching and preaching that is biblical, application-based, and intellectually challenging. We seek a pastor dedicated to the discipleship of all believers and the mentoring and coaching of our up-and-coming leaders. Our pastor is also called to provide pastoral care to our congregation and community.We hope for applicants to have experience as a senior pastor and would highly value his ability to demonstrate rich past experience whether it be:In growing a church,In a similar sized church or a rural church, and/orIn former experience in non-pastoral roles.We'd love to see his demonstrated commitment to ongoing growth throughout his professional journey.Our hope is for a pastor to join our church community and invest in strong connections with our congregation. Our church has recently invested effort in renewing our vision, and our pastor will be alongside us to work towards and grow this vision.We are calling a pastor for an initial five-year term, in the sincere hope that he will come to us with a longer-term tenure in mind, God willing.Eligibility for registration with Queensland Baptists is essential. Remuneration will be based on QB Remuneration Guidelines.
