We have an exciting permanent, part-time (0.25 FTE) opportunity for a Senior Solicitor - Corporate.
$132,687 - $154,039 base salary (pro rata) plus 11.5% super.
Flexible hybrid working arrangements are available.

About the opportunity
We have an exciting permanent, part-time (0.25 FTE) opportunity for a Senior Solicitor - Corporate to provide legal advice and support to Energy Safe Victoria on all commercial and corporate legal matters.
You will contribute by:

Provide timely, practical and high-quality legal advice and support to all divisions of Energy Safe in relation to:

corporate and governance matters, including commercial negotiations, procurement processes, drafting privacy impact assessments; and
information security and privacy related issues, including privacy and data protection, information sharing, legislative compliance and Victorian public sector governance requirements.

Administer and keep current Energy Safe's template contract documents and supporting guidance materials.
Working with Energy Safe's learning and development team to develop and deliver training to Energy Safe staff on relevant matters such as contract management, governance, and privacy.
Draft briefing memorandum and reports to inform management/executive decision making.
Brief external law firms in relation to specific legal issues/advice, including preparation of briefing and source documents, leading conferences and briefing internal stakeholders on advice.

To be successful, you'll have:

Tertiary qualification in Law and admitted to practice as an Australian Lawyer.
Hold or be eligible to hold a current practising certificate in Victoria.
A strong commercial law background, with relevant experience in a commercial law firm or in-house role.
Demonstrated ability to work independently within tight timeframes managing multiple priorities.
Autonomous and solutions-focussed self-starter who can work with minimal supervision to ensure work is prioritised and actioned to meet business needs.
Highly developed interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate with senior executives and staff at all levels and to maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate complex legal advice in a practical and easily understood manner and to provide written and verbal briefings to Energy Safe Senior Leaders and Executive Leaders in order to support decision-making.
Experience working within the Victorian public sector is desired.
Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating IT contracts is desired.
Experience advising on privacy and data security issues is desired.
Understanding of the role and functions of a regulator and associated legal risks is desired.
