Within our company wide Information Systems & Technology function, we are building an internal software development and delivery team focusing on high value and strategic products for the digital transformation of Rio Tinto.
About the team
Rio Tinto has a long history of being a leader in innovation and the development and deployment of technology within the mining industry. The Technology Development team in Group Technical – Services and Delivery works across a broad range of unique mining technologies.
About the role
We are looking for an
experienced software engineer
to join a small team of talented developers designing innovative
3D visualisation tools
used across Rio Tinto's mine sites. Reporting to the Principal Advisor – Visualisation.
About you
Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Solid C++ programming skills
Experience working with shader languages ( OpenGL/DirectX )
Experience in frontend UI/UX design.
C#/.net exposure
Experience working with
multi-threaded
applications
Strong mathematics and
computational geometry
skills
Effective communication skills
Self-motivated, team player able to work effectively within an agile environment.
Experience working on multiple
3D game/graphics engines.
Bonus points for any experience working within the mining/resources sector.
Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory)
