About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems.
AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the opportunity: Working in the System Management IPT as part of an Agile Scrum team, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of features focusing on front-end and back-end elements, including technical ownership of designated system features.
Responding to the System Management IPT Lead, you will undertake activities with customers and team to identify, analyse, select and apply concepts, technologies and techniques that are applicable to the technical development of products.
In performing this role, you will be required to actively support the development of complex technical solutions in the design areas outlined above, as proposed by yourself and team Subject Matter Experts, including the development of requirements, design and test rationale and the implementation of product development and unit test whilst overcoming project technical issues within an agile team environment.
You will also be responsible for resolution of problems identified during the conduct of product development, integration and test of your products and support the development of junior engineering staff.
About you: To be successful in the role you will have extensive knowledge of Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle, along with; Significant experience working in multiple small and/or medium sized engineering teams to successful system outcomes Excellent ability to apply experiential judgement and lateral approaches to complex problem solving Significant knowledge on container orchestration system(s) Special Requirements: Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
