We're looking for a senior Swift engineer to join our team in Hobart, Australia.
You'll join our product team and build and maintain next generation Procreate products and features.
Your experience in Swift and technical architecture will amplify our team's impact on the creative industry.
The RoleThis role sits with the Product team and reports directly to Michael Shaw our CTO.
In this role you'll work directly with other members of the engineering team, designers, quality assurance and relevant executive members.
What you'll doWork closely with designers to turn prototypes into shippable productDeliver major features to millions of artistsProvide technical leadership through mentoring, library development and code reviewSolve complex and unique technical problemsRequired SkillsA deep understanding of Swift and its type system (Rust experience also counts)Understanding of multi-threaded concurrency and parallelism approachesExperience making technical decisions for a team and seeing them throughExperience debugging, profiling and resolving performance problemsA strong track record of developing libraries used by teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsBonus SkillsExperience with diverse languages that have alternate paradigms to Swift, such as C, Haskell and rustExperience with UIKitCompetence in linear algebra, being comfortable with matrices and vectorsBeing well versed in testing approaches, such as property testingWhat to expect in your first 12 monthsComplete the Procreate onboarding processTake ownership of your first initiativesProvide support to our existing productsBuild an understanding of our product development practicesPrepare and support the execution of core product featuresShip productWe want to hear from youOur recruitment process is made to provide you with opportunities for you to show us what you're capable of, instead of assessing you solely on your CV.
