What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. This will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. At the moment, this role is focused on: Building the Release Platform, Canva's next-gen change orchestration system Migrating components currently released via legacy pipelines and processes to the Release Platform Expanding the Release Platform's capabilities to support new component types and new functionality such as custom orchestration, custom deployers, release creation UIs, new notification types and more Ensuring feature parity exists within the Release Platform regardless of component type or the language which the component has been written in Providing service desk support and on-call support for the Release Platform on a rostered basis Collaborating with other teams with Infra to provide a well-integrated platform offering to other engineers at Canva You're probably a match if You have advanced coding proficiency in Python and strong Computer Science and OOP fundamentals You have strong experience as a Software Engineer in a cloud ecosystem You have a strong grasp of Dev Ops best practices You have experience with container images, Docker, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes You have experience working in a modern distributed microservices environment hosted on AWS You have experience working with infrastructure as code and CI/CD You have an understanding of cloud security best practices You have experience utilizing service offerings such as IAM, VPC, EC2, S3 and RDS within AWS would be desirable, but not required. You have the ability to guide and mentor other members within the team and improve the way we collaborate, learn, and share ideas About the team You'll be joining the Release Engineering team's primary mission to provide easy ways for Canva engineers to release their components to the Cloud safely and efficiently. We provide tooling, dashboards, pipelines, and processes that manage the entire Canva product's deployment process. What's in it for you?
